Kevin Cuevas, MD, joined Boulder Eye Surgeons as a Cornea Specialist in 2017.
Dr. Cuevas earned his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology/Chemistry
from San Diego State University and his Medical Degree from the University
of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. He completed his Ophthalmology
residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas
with extensive ocular trauma experience at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
He then completed a fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at the University
of Iowa. Dr. Cuevas has published and presented research in the areas
of corneal wound healing, refractive surgery, cataract surgery, and intraocular
lens technology. Dr. Cuevas is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology
and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Castroviejo
Cornea Society.
Dr. Cuevas is the former Founder and Medical Director of Rocky Mountain
Ophthalmology in Denver, Colorado, a leading cataract and refractive surgery
practice serving the greater Denver Metro for 15 years.
Dr. Cuevas is the Co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of ClearSight, a
novel intraocular lens start-up company focused on the development of
advanced intraocular lens (IOL) technology. He holds numerous patents
related to IOL design and inhibition of cellular migration following cataract
surgery. ClearSight has received a high level of funding through the National
Institute of Health.
Dr. Cuevas’ clinical interests include laser-assisted cataract surgery,
premium intraocular lens technology, LASIK/PRK, and surgical and medical
management of cornea and external disease.
Dr. Cuevas is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys flyfishing, fly tying, traditional
bowhunting, scuba diving, golf, beekeeping and traveling with his lovely
wife Kendall.
