Provider Bio
Dr. Jeff Gagliano, originally from Smithtown, NY, graduated with honors
from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY with a Bachelor of Sciences in Biology
and minor in Microbiology. He was a student athlete during college, playing
on the Cornell men’s lacrosse team. Between undergrad and graduate
school, he lived in Vail, CO, working as a Beaver Creek ski patroller
and white-water guide. He was valedictorian for his master’s degree
in physiology at Columbia University in NYC, performing and publishing
research in cardiovascular physiology and the immunogenetics of maternal-fetal
HIV transmission.
He received his MD with honors at the University of Colorado School of
Medicine in Denver, CO, during which time, he continued working with Breckenridge
Ski Patrol. He completed general and orthopedic surgery residency training
at the University of California, San Francisco. During medical school
and residency, his orthopedic research interests included the molecular
biology of fracture healing and upper extremity trauma.
Jeff continued his training with a one-year Sports Medicine fellowship
at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic Denver. He provided orthopedic care and
game coverage for the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies. His clinical
and research interests lie in shoulder and knee disorders, sports medicine
and arthroscopy, as well as general orthopedics, including trauma and
fracture care and all ski-related injuries. He currently serves as a team
physician for the USA Ski Team and USA Men’s Rugby team. He has
also been active with orthopaedic care and sports medicine program development
for Adams County High School Athletics and athletes and as team physician
for Skyview Academy.
Dr. Gagliano appreciates free time spent with his wife and 2 children.
He is an outdoor sports enthusiast, including skiing, mountaineering,
lacrosse, mountain biking, fishing, surfing and golf.
